Serving The Chicagoland Area

There is help and hope for you and your teen, pre-teen, or young adult, whatever the need may be. Those who struggle with school, home, personal, and/or social issues can be blocked from successful learning and effective functioning in life. As a teacher, counselor, coach, and mentor, Ruth Rosio provides positive goal and solution-oriented services. Her passion is empowering teens to survive and thrive through these often difficult years. Ruth encourages and builds teens up to realize and actualize their true value, worth, strengths, uniqueness, "lovability", and their potential for success and fulfillment in life.

Ruth is a highly specialized counselor in three distinctive disciplines, all three of which are rare to find in one individual counselor:

    1. Education Therapist
    2. Counselor (including certified substance abuse counselor )
    3. Coach/Mentor
  • Ruth works solely with teens, pre-teens, and young adults (and their parents as need be), through individual counseling and parent/teen counseling. She LOVES working with teens. They have always been her forte!

Throughout this site, the word "teens" will also refer to pre-teens and young adults.

  • Ruth relates well to teens and has a keen awareness of their special needs, with her diverse training and experience of over 25 years. She is continually privileged to see great outcomes and real success with young people.
  • She serves a wide geographical region. Working out of Wheaton, DuPage County, IL, teens also come to work with her from all over the Chicagoland area, including, but not limited to, Kane County, Cook County, Will County, Lake County, DuPage County.
  • Ruth's approach as a teen counselor is behavioral, cognitive, educational, and relational. She focuses on the whole person, encompassing their home, school, personal, and/or social life, dependant on their needs.
  • Her methods in serving youth are considered creative and different from the norm, and even ... Fun!
  • Many teens have tried other forms of help before they find their way to Ruth, and they stay and can and do succeed.
  • When working with a teen who can't be controlled in the home, she has been successful in keeping that out-of-control teen in the home, that otherwise would usually be placed away from home in a residential program
  • Ruth has ADHD herself and is able to relate to and work with teens who also have ADHD, using her own insights and accomplishments.

The capacity of people to change and grow in positive ways is an intrinsic trait we all possess and can continue building on every day of our lives.  Teenagers and young adults faced with educational, behavioral, and/or emotional difficulties can realize this potential within themselves.  It is never too late!
